1. Quantity Surveyor | ACHP Head Office (Emalahleni) | Closing date 30th May 2025

Qualifications Required
Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying and/or Mechanical Engineering.
Certifications: Professional certification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., RICS, SACQSP) is preferred.

Experience and Skills Required
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Bulk Material Handling Equipment quantity surveying within the power generation, mining, or steel industries.
Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation software, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and a thorough understanding of contracts and procurement processes.
Technical Knowledge: Experience in the use of computer-based quantification and knowledge in using systems such as CCS (Candy) and AutoCAD for Quantity Takeoff.
Software Proficiency: Knowledge in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ERP systems (preferably SAP).
Health and Safety: Awareness and understanding of health and safety procedures, promoting compliance within the supply chain and the company.

Duties and Responsibilities
Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for fabrication, manufacturing and engineering projects, analysing project specifications, materials, labor costs, and other factors to determine project budgets.
Budget Management: Manage project budgets throughout the process, monitoring costs, tracking expenditures, and identifying variances to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints.
Tendering Process: Assist in the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, analysing bids, and negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best value for the project.
Contract Administration: Administer contracts, including reviewing contract terms, processing change orders, and resolving contractual disputes to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Quantity Takeoffs: Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings, determining quantities of materials and labor required for construction activities.
Cost Control: Implement cost control measures to manage project expenses effectively, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing value engineering solutions to optimize project costs.
Risk Management: Identify and assess project risks, such as cost overruns, schedule delays, and scope changes, developing risk mitigation strategies to minimize impacts on project outcomes.
Quality Assurance: Ensure construction work meets quality standards and specifications, conducting inspections and quality audits to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports and cost reports for project stakeholders, providing updates on project status, budget performance, and forecasting future costs.
Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving disputes and claims related to cost, quantity, and contract issues, providing expert advice and support to project teams and stakeholders to achieve timely and fair resolutions.

2. Contracts Manager | ACHP Head Office(Emalahleni) | Closing date 30th May 2025

Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering. • Certifications: Professional certification in contract management (e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager - CPCM) is preferred.

Experience and Skills Required

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Bulk Material Handling Equipment contract management within the power generation, mining, or steel industries.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and a thorough understanding of contract law and procurement processes.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with various types of contracts, including FIDIC contracts, and an understanding of industry-specific standards and regulations.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Health and Safety: Awareness and understanding of health and safety procedures, promoting compliance within the supply chain and the company.

Duties and Responsibilities
Contract Preparation and Review: Analyze and evaluate proposed contract terms and conditions, ensuring they align with company policies and objectives. Prepare and review contracts for projects, including subcontracts and supplier agreements.
Contract Administration: Manage the administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and timely execution of contract deliverables. Monitor contract performance and address any discrepancies or issues that arise.
Tendering Process: Manage and assist in the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, analyzing bids, and negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best value for the project.
Risk Management: Identify potential contractual risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure that all contracts are structured to minimize risk and protect the company's interests.
Claims Management: Handle claims and disputes related to contracts, providing practical guidance on the preparation of extension of time claims and other contractual claims. Successfully conclude all claims to the company's benefit.
Stakeholder Management: Interface with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and resolution of contractual issues. Maintain strong relationships with all parties involved in the project.
Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs, ensuring that contracts are executed within budgetary constraints. Implement cost-saving measures and value engineering solutions to optimize project costs.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Maintain organized and efficient filing systems for contracts and related documentation.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on contract status, performance, and any issues or risks. Provide updates to senior management and other stakeholders as required.
